The Texas State Library and Archives Commission, in partnership with the American Association for State and Local History, Heritage Preservation, the Florida Association of Museums, the Board of Library Commissioners for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, the Maine State Museum, the Newark Museum, the Oklahoma Department of Libraries, the South Dakota State Historical Society, and the Washington State Library, have received a Laura Bush 21st Century Librarian Continuing Education grant to develop the Connecting to Collections: Continuing Conversation Exchange, a series of meetings planned, managed, and hosted by recipients of Connecting to Collections Statewide Planning and Implementation Grants. Each meeting will allow recipients of Connecting to Collections Statewide Planning and Implementation Grants to share the results of their projects and to learn from each other in a collaborative environment.
The Connecting to Collections: Continuing Conversations Exchange project is part of the Institute of Museum and Library Services’ Connecting to Collections Initiative. The Institute of Museum and Library Services is the primary source of federal support for the nation’s 122,000 libraries and 17,500 museums. The Institute’s mission is to create strong libraries and museums that connect people to information and ideas.
